The NVDO Infrastructure Section focuses on maintenance of roads, waterways, railways and other infrastructure works, such as ports and airports. But attention is also paid to infrastructure such as cables and pipe networks. Also consider water treatment, corrosion and other current topics.
The trend ‘Attention to Sustainability’ has entered the Top 5 Trends in the Infrastructure Sector this year. This is because sustainability is increasingly taken into account when building and replacing new infrastructure. A forerunner in sustainable infrastructure is the province of North Holland, which wants to realize a 100% circular infrastructure by 2050. Sustainable measures are taken in both the management and construction of infrastructure. CO2 neutral is an important starting point here because CO2 emissions must be reduced by 55% by 2030 (compared to 1990). This must be achieved by, for example, using sustainable asphalt, cleaner and electrical equipment, CO2-absorbing plants and CO2-absorbing asphalt. We also see this trend in the municipalities of Amsterdam and Wageningen, where mobility in bicycle traffic continues to increase. New, modular and circular bicycle and pedestrian bridges from Pontiflex are used here.
